I'm here to boast about bread. AHAHA.
Located at Square 2@Novena. |
Be greeted by freshly baked loaves and buns just outside the shop. |
I love the variety of breads available. There's so many.
THIS ADORBS DOLLS MOVE HAHAHA SO CUTE
I'll definitely try their loaves someday.
Simply put, be spoilt for choice. All their pastes are homemade and they don't use eggs and milk in some of their breads, which they'll state on the name tags. Another reason to love them.
My first visit to Mama's. I was so overwhelmed by everything I just wanted everything. Got the black sesame yam, sesame paste anpan and 2 regular anpans. The mini breads were selling at 3 for $2.
Regular Anpan. I love red bean(;
The inside of the anpan! Nomz at the filling. Its such a small bun, yet the filling can still fill 3/4 of it. It was very obvious that the paste was homemade, as you could still bite chunks of red bean as you munched on the filling. I loved this because it wasn't too sweet, like some other places. And the bread to filling ratio was...YAY.
Sesame paste anpan. It's so small and cute.
The inside. I didn't like this as much; the filling was rather tasteless. Nevertheless, it felt very guilt-free LOL.
Filling to dough ratio once again.
Saving the best for the last-Black Sesame Yam
Lovely <3 The yam was definitely more prominent than the taste of black sesame, but I could still taste both. It was gud.
This is from my second trip there! The highly recommended black sesame anpan. I thought it was pretty light when I looked at it, but when I held it, I was shocked to discover how dense it was. I couldn't even imagine how much filling was in there.
IT WAS SPILLING OUT.
I loved it. I could taste the black sesame, though not super distinct, it blended really nicely with the red bean paste. Once again, I loved the parts when I bit into the filling and was rewarded with small chunks of red bean :> Would have this a thousand times over. I'll never get sick of it.
Tell me. Where else can you find filling spilling out from all ends even after tearing it apart?
Also got the matcha anpan! This was also crazy dense, I held it and was just. OMG. I couldn't wait to open it (;
I prefer the black sesame one over this; I couldn't really taste the matcha in this. Pretty average to me, I'd go for others (:
Latest expedition there: Sesame Paste bun. A giant triangular bun, heavy to the brim in my palm. Generous dose of sesame and black sesame seeds on top. Loved how fluffy it was to the touch. And once again, managed to get it warm (;
Just the side is already poofing up I went crazy imagining the filling in there |
Open it....to reveal a hot piping filling that is thick and spreads evenly inside the bun. The ratio. I cannot emphasise. |
Best bakery I've tried so far. No complaints no nothing, price is perfectly reasonable too. I would eat this every week but I'm scared I'll get sick of it xD Really love bread so much and this just makes everything better on a crappy day.
